What to expect?

Like the monastery of Lluc, the history of the Santuari de Cura is full of legends and myths.

This is where the famous philosopher, hermit and scholar Ramon Llull lived in the 13th century. mystical visions of Jesus Christ. In 1682, the Ermitage became a monastery complex. This unique place of pilgrimage owes its name Santuari de Cura to the healing power attributed to this religious site.

Our route takes us from the idyllic mountain village of Randa past marvellous orange and lemon plantations to the mystical monastery mountain Santuari de Cura.

A fantastic view of the Mallorcan lowlands and the Sierra Tramuntana awaits you there at an altitude of 536 metres.

We start at 9 am from the car park at Palma Marina and after a 45-minute drive we reach the idyllic mountain village of Randa in the municipality of Algaida. There’s plenty of opportunity to immerse yourself in Mallorca’s rural origins. In Randa itself, the beautiful terrace of the Sa Tanqueta restaurant is well worth a visit.

Freshly fortified, we then head up to Puig de Randa with its monastery complex, where there is a guided tour of the monastery with a visit to the museum on the programme, as well as enough time for our own exploration including photo sightseeing.

As a special highlight, we invite you to take a poetic walk through the monastery garden. Karin will recite some of her own Mallorca poems in a magical setting.

From around 2 p.m., we’ll head back towards Palma from the monastery car park.

Arrival in Palma is planned for 15.- 15.30
