Visit to Lluc Monastery

Lluc / Escorca

What to expect?

The monastery of Lluc is the spiritual home of the Mallorcans, the spiritual centre par excellence. This place of pilgrimage owes its name to Mallorca’s patron saint, the Virgin de Lluc. The Santuari de lluc is located in the north-west of the Serra de Tramuntana. The journey through the marvellous Tramuntana mountains is an experience in itself due to the numerous viewpoints. Anyone interested in Spanish culture and architecture will get their money’s worth on this tour.

The basilica, the old chapel, the paradisiacal Jardi de Botanic (monastery garden) and the spectacular view from the monastery hill are particularly impressive features of the 13th century monastery complex. It is also home to a boys’ boarding school, where musically talented children in particular are encouraged, and a hotel.

Tour description
Duration:7 h
Location: Palma marina – Santuari de Lluc

We start the Lluc Monastery sightseeing tour at 9 am from Palma marina

After travelling via Inca on a winding road through the Tramuntana mountains, we reach the Santuari de Lluc at around 10-10.15 am. To welcome you, we invite you to enjoy a coffee and original Mallorcan almond cake at La Placa Cafe in the monastery park.

We will then accompany you to the highest vantage point of the Santuari – the monastery cross with its breathtaking views. Then it’s off to the paradisiacal “Jardi de Botanic” (monastery garden). Inspired by these extraordinary places of power for body and soul, Karen has prepared a poetry reading for you here that has never been held in this form in these places before!

A treat for all your senses!

The final part of our Lluc Monastery tour begins at 12.30 pm with a visit to the monastic mass in the basilica, before we conclude our tour by listening to the songs of the internationally renowned boys’ choir “Blauets de Lllucs”.

From around 1.30 p.m., there will be plenty of free time to take in the unique impressions and find a souvenir or two.

The return journey to Palma is planned for around 3.00 pm, where we will arrive at the marina at 4.00 pm – 4.15 pm.
